SIX MONTHS AND TWENTY BOOKS. #BLOGCHATTERBLOGHOP

Strolling between my writing desk and the kitchen to fetch a pail of tea, I just realized six months have flown by! Apart from hounding my husband and children when things go awry, I am trying hard to come up with something substantial, in the last six months. The only thing I can come up with, is my reading list.I have often mentioned through my blogs that I begin my day by a reading a chapter or two from a book. It is a habit that keeps me sane, and sets a calming tone for the day. It is also one of the few habits I am extremely proud of.

That said, here’s a list of 20 books I read in the last six months. All the books are available on Amazon in case you want to delve into something that piqued your interest.

NON – FICTION (Self- Help /Philosophy/ Memoir)
This year I have read more non-fiction than I ever have!

FICTION: (CHILDREN’S/ DRAMA/ CONTEMPORARY/ HORROR / SHORT-STORIES)

Feathers, Fools and Farts is a Children’s book. If you want to know more about it then I have reviewed it separately here

 Short Stories
I RECOMMEND –If you were to ask me my top 3 then there are three books that blew my mind.

·       DISCIPLINE IS DESTINY by Author Ryan Holiday – If you are looking for something that will help you overcome mental barriers, awaken you, and motivate you; then look no further. This is THE book.

·       BECOMING by Author Michelle Obama- This book gives us an insight into the life of the first lady of America. It is also a testament to a colored American woman’s hard work, strong will, and acumen. One of the finest memoirs of this decade. Do give it a read.

·       THE ISLAND OF MISSING TREES by Elif Shafak – My all-time favourite, Shafak has outdone herself in this book. There is no one who tells a story like the way she does. You will have to read it to believe it.  To read the book review please click here.

On that note HAPPY READING!
